Käringboda

A little farther, a little more secure and a little more secret! Here you will find many nice bays, including Gravamaren which also suits the disabled and small children.

Käringboda nature reserve is situated on a peninsula and consists of 1 060 hectares land. Nature alternates between mountains, forests, pastures and bays. Here you will find several beautiful hiking trails, beaches and the outdoor recreation yard "Sågen". A tenant farmer takes care of the farm on Långholm. Sheep and cows keeps the pasture open. The nature reserve is managed by the Archipelago Foundation.

Käringboda has plenty of floral displays and orchids Adam and Eve is common especially at Rassaviken. You can read more about this on The Archipelago Foundation website. 

Nynäsviken (a bay) and Gravamaren has nice beaches, read more on the page Swimming. There is a viewpoint at Vinsberget, follow the red/white markings. You will find nice natural harbours at Rassa Vikar, Maren and Gravamaren.

Please be aware of that the area is a nature reserve, respect the environment and the wildlife and that motorboats are forbidden in parts of the bay.

Accessibility:
There are five car parks in the area; four of these have toilets, three of which are fully accessible. The ones that are fully accessible are Grava and Sågen. By Grava you will find a path to the beach, suitable for the disabled.

How to get here by car:
The reserve is situated in Nynäsviken, approx. 2 km south-west of Nynäshamn.
By car from Stockholm (road 73), head towards Torö and follow the signs for Käringboda Naturreservat.

How to get here by public transport:
Take bus number 848 or 852 from Nynäshamns station, alight at Järflotta road. Travel time: 9 min. Then walk about 1 km to the border.
