A beautiful nature area with its beginning just in the end of the scenic coastal road Ringvägen. Experience Swedish nature at its best, with forests, grassy meadows and sun-exposed rocky and sandy beaches. Pack the picnic basket and choose your favourite spot!
Lövhagen ("The leaf meadow/paddock") nature area has plenty of hiking trails for walking, cycling or running, and beautiful picnic spots for every taste. Sunbathe and swim from the cliffs and sandy beaches, pick mushrooms and blueberries in the woods or fish for perch and grill your catch on one of the barbecues in the area.
Animal life here is very rich, with deer, elk, mink, fox and wild boars.
By the parking lot in the outer part of the area, you will find Lövhagens Café and Hostel. Idyllically situated in a beautiful renovated old barn, with outdoor dining on a beautiful meadow and small red cottages for rent, this is the perfect stay for the nature enthusiast. It is also a nice place to stay for a "fika" or light lunch.
How to get here:
The nicest way to get to Lövhagen from central Nynäshamn is to walk down to the fishing harbour, behind the train station, and continuing south by following the walkway that runs between the shore and the railway track. Go to the left when you come to a major road and turn immediately left again onto Strandvägen. Follow this road past the Yacht Club NSS and continue along the beautiful beach road until you reach Lövhagens recreation area. It is about 4 kilometers from NSS to Lövhagen.
Note that Ringvägen is unidirectional.
